Hybrid discipline based with integration and problem base.
The BDS course comprises five years, of 10 semesters. The courses follow semester system evaluation, each semester consisting of at least 15 weeks. The BDS course is divided in to three phases, medical scientific foundation phase Pre-clinical and Clinical Phase.
Phase 1:Medical Scientific Foundation
Semester 1-4: Biology, chemistry, medical physics, college requirement, Anatomy, Bi-chemistry & Physiology
Semester 5 – 6: Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pre-clinical dental Skills
Phase 3: Clinical
Semesters 7-10: Clinical Dental Subjects oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, restoratives, periodontology, paedodontics & prosthodontics ( removable and fixed ) and community dentistry.
The Goals of the Curriculum
This curriculum is designed to develop future dental practitioner who is knowledgeable, highly skilled and of high ambition of lifelong learning, emphasized that dentistry is a a science and medical profession demands both intellectual and technical skills.
